MyMatrix is built on the Eisenhower Matrix — a simple 2×2 grid that sorts tasks by urgency (left → right) and importance (bottom → top). Instead of a ranked list you scroll past, you place tasks as dots on the grid so you can see your entire workload at a glance.
Type in the input at the top of the Task Log and press Enter. New tasks appear at the top of the log.
Double-click the task name to edit it inline (desktop). On mobile, double-tap the name in the matrix popup to rename via a prompt.
On desktop, drag the grip handle (⠿) on the left of any task to reorder. On mobile, long-press the grip handle and drag.
Forward any email to add@mail.mymatrix.app and it appears in your Task Log automatically, tagged with a ✉ icon. Subject becomes the task name; Fwd:/Re: prefixes are stripped.
On desktop, drag any dot to reposition it. On mobile, long-press a dot (300 ms) to drag it within a quadrant.
Click (desktop) or tap (mobile) a dot to open its popup. From there you can:
Double-click any label on the matrix to rename the quadrant (desktop). Changes sync across all your devices.
Click or tap any empty area on the matrix to open a quick-add popup. The task is pre-assigned to the quadrant you tapped.
Double-tap any quadrant to zoom in to a full-screen view. In zoom mode you can long-press dots to reposition them precisely. Tap ✕ to close.
Every task on the matrix appears in the priority list, sorted by its position. Tasks in the top-right (urgent + important) come first. Within a quadrant, tasks closer to the top-right corner rank higher. The top item is always your single most urgent and important task.
Each quadrant is its own section. Use the ▲ ▼ buttons on section headers to reorder which quadrant group appears first.
Toggle the 📅 sort button to switch to due-date order — tasks with upcoming deadlines appear first, undated tasks follow.
The Filter by category bar at the top of the priority panel works the same as the log filter — click a pill to isolate one category, click again to reset.
Each task in the priority list has the same controls as the task log: due date, category, recurrence, reminder, plan, return to log, and mark done.
In the Task Log panel, expand the Categories section. Type a name, pick a color, and click Add. Categories appear as colored swatches and filter pills throughout the app.
Click the Category ▾ badge on any task — in the Task Log, the matrix dot popup, or the priority list. A dropdown appears with all your categories. You can reassign at any time from any of these three places.
Expand the Filter by category bar at the top of the Task Log or Priority List. Click any pill to show only tasks in that category. Click a pill once when all categories are shown to isolate just that one — "Show All" appears inline to reset. Click the same pill again to deselect.
When a filter is active, matrix dots for other categories dim automatically so you can see what matters.
Click ✕ next to a category in the Categories section to remove it. Tasks that were tagged with it keep their color until you reassign them.
Click or tap ⊞ Plan on any task (in the log, matrix popup, or priority list). The plan panel slides in from the right. The ⊞ button turns blue when a plan has been started.
Free-form text field at the top. Auto-saved as you type (400 ms debounce).
Enter or click Add.Add named milestones with a target date. These are tracked separately from sub-tasks and appear in the plan panel.
The progress bar at the top of the panel shows completed sub-tasks ÷ total sub-tasks. It also appears as a small badge on the task card in the log.
If a task has sub-tasks, the Convert to Category button promotes each incomplete sub-task into its own top-level task, creates a new category named after the original task, and removes the original. Useful when a project has grown into multiple independent workstreams. Note: notes and milestones do not carry over.
Click the ☀ / ☾ button in the header to toggle themes. Your preference is saved automatically.
MyMatrix syncs across all your devices in real time. Open it on your phone and desktop simultaneously — changes appear instantly on both.
Click the 🔁 button on any task to set a custom recurrence. Options include every N days / weeks / months, day-of-week toggles for weekly repeats, and end conditions (never, on a date, or after N occurrences). When you complete a recurring task, the next occurrence is created automatically in the log.
Click 🔔 Remind on any task, pick a date and time, and MyMatrix opens a pre-filled Google Calendar event in a new tab. Click Save in Google Calendar to confirm. Reminders are stored per-device.
Use ↓ Export in the header to download all your data as a JSON file. Use ↑ Import to restore it. Useful for backups or moving data between accounts.
Double-click any quadrant label on the matrix to rename it (desktop). Your custom names sync across devices and appear in the priority list sections and category filter labels.
Click the 💡 button in the header to replay the onboarding tour at any time.
Click the 💬 Feedback button (bottom-right corner) to send a note about anything — bugs, confusion, or ideas. Your input directly shapes what gets built next.
